Dr. Mac Hafele is an experienced provider of clinical and forensic psychological services in Georgia. She specializes in forensic evaluation, forensic neuropsychological assessment, and psychotherapy for a wide range of mental health issues. She offers expertise in risk assessment, trauma/PTSD, sleep disorders, veterans/first responders, women's issues, and more. Her practice also provides executive coaching for professionals in leadership positions.
Dr. Hafele has provided forensic evaluations to adults and juveniles for court in Hall County and across the state for the past 25 years. She has extensive experience providing expert witness testimony in court. Services include:
While Dr. Hafele has specialized experience in trauma, sleep, first responders, and human sexuality, she has over 25 years of clinical experience in general practice. She sees adults and adolescents. Sessions are available online/virtual.

Thriving in leadership positions can be supported by executive coaching strategies. Dr. Hafele is an experienced Coach for professionals with 15 years of experience with leaders in healthcare and education. You have the subject matter expertise and Coaching can build/develop the collateral skills/habits to streamline your success. Sessions are conducted virtually.
Upon scheduling your evaluation, you will need to fill out, scan (no photos please), and return all forms by close of business the day prior to your evaluation.
Prior to your first appointment, please read and sign the consent form that will be emailed to you. Please ensure that you have a quiet private space to participate in your session.
Prior to your first coaching session, please fill out the background form as fully as possible. Your first session will involve reviewing your strengths, rough edges, and goals. Duration of coaching services is flexible.
There are generally no costs associated with travel for evaluations conducted within about an hour's drive radius. Further distances or other travel related complexities (including several jails) can incur additional fees that will be discussed before the evaluation is scheduled.
After leaving the US Marine Corps where she specialized in cryptologic warfare intelligence, Dr. Hafele earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Oklahoma State University in 1995. She earned her Master's and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Louisiana State University, and completed her clinical residency at the Medical College of Georgia in 2000. She has additional training in Trauma, Sleep, Critical Incident Stress Management, Complex Conflict Mediation, and Organizational Dynamics. She is licensed in GA.
After spending nearly ten years as the director of a local college counseling center, Dr. Hafele transitioned to Emory University Healthcare were she spent nearly another decade serving in an EAP role providing therapy, coaching, and team dynamics services. Commute fatigue led her to the NGHS EAP in Gainesville where she served the past 6 years before transitioning to full time private practice serving the community where she's lived for the past 24 years. Throughout that time, she has maintained a forensic private practice, serving attorneys, the courts, and serving as the attending psychologist for several local law enforcement agencies. She has conducted over five thousand forensic evaluations in that time and provided expert testimony in dozens of those cases.
A USMC veteran, Dr. Hafele's therapeutic approach is characterized by a pragmatic communication style. Trained in CBT and traditional Behavioral approaches, she also incorporates narrative and collaborative approaches to therapy. Clients find her approachable and down to Earth. Her focus is on processing the emotional components and developing a plan for positive change.
Dr. Hafele was raised in the heart of Cajun Country in Louisiana and continues to value her rich heritage. She served as an active duty US Marine and continues to be involved in the veteran community. She is married and is proud to be a mother to daughters and rowdy German Shepherds. Passions include music, reading, cooking, crafts, Detroit Red Wings Hockey, travel, and scuba.
Forensic and court related evaluations are billed based on the general complexity of the evaluation/case. Most evaluations cost an average of $1200 although extensive discovery or travel can incur additional costs.
Court related costs for expert witness testimony is billed at $300/hr inclusive of preparation, travel, and court appearance.
Psychotherapy and coaching sessions $150/hr
Accepted forms of payment include cash, check, Zelle, or debit/credit card. Debit/credit card payment incurs a 3.5% processing fee.
